20 Years, $200,000 from Mini-grant to Innovation Grants

The REF has been running a “Mini-grant Program” for the last 20 years. Since its inception, we have granted teachers over $200,000.00 for innovations in their classrooms and for their students. The programs we have funded range from: 

• Document cameras 

• Musical instruments  

• Physical education supplies

• Support for the RHS student magazine

• Chinese New Year dragons

• Traveling museums

• Science Olympiad

• Destination Imagination

• Odyssey of the Mind

• Robotics

This program encourages teachers to try new things and request the supplies need to optimize instruction in their classes. Teachers love the ability to innovate and bring new instructional ideas and supplies to their students, through mini-grants. Moving forward, these grants will be called “Innovation Grants.”  (This is a sampling of mini grants give. It is not a complete list.)
